Whiskerino Throwdown
This past weekend was one that i’ll never forget, unless i become senile, i suppose. Around 60 bearded individuals decended upon Nashville for the Whiskerino Throwdown. Friday night, lowercase collective played with Codaphonic, Joshua Blankenship, and Belize at a club called SPIN in East Nashville. Saturday, we bowled, took photos, and ate at a place called Le Peep, which was vibey, looked expensive, but was rather reasonable. i had a burger with an egg on it. Prizes were given out, fun was had.

On to happier things: tonight is the Whiskerino band throwdown at SPIN. It will be a bunch of fun, and a way to keep my mind off of things for a while. For more information: visit our myspace page.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

lovedrug sold out
the last 2 times i saw Lovedrug in Nashville, i just went early, stood in line, and got in. apparently that won’t happen this time. someone just informed me that they heard it was sold out, so i went to my favorite website (…) ticketmaster, and did a search. no tickets available.
so now i’m sad.
show/concert review
i’m going to make this short and simple. or try to.
i saw a show at 12th and Porter last night. Luna Halo, needtobreathe, Autovaughn, and the Colour. basically, every band was rubbish except for Autovaughn. they were energetic, had great songs, great stage presense, good musicians, and a band that i will make a point to go see again.
the Colour was a really crappy version of the Strokes. they had the “look”, with the tight pants and cowboy boots and girls scarves and the modern mullets, but the songs were not catchy. very disappointing.
needtobreathe was ok. nothing great. not horrible. won’t see them again if i can help it.
Luna Halo. they are probably the only band to leave the Christian Music Industry and actually get worse. i don’t know what they are thinking, but the album they released on Sparrow records in 1999 was 10 times better than anything i heard them play last night. i left after 3 songs.
the lighting at 12th and Porter is very impressive. go see a show there. they’ve also opened up a stage in the restaurant area, and it looks interesting. lowercase collective plays there on March 16th. i’ll be trying to get a gig on the main stage as soon as i can.
