Just Say “No” to Bible Land

Posted in personal, rants by sh4wn on the July 12, 2007

As many of you know, and many of you may not know, there is a new Bible based theme park being suggested for a large area of grass in Murfreesboro, TN. They are going to call it “Bible Land” or something. Here is a great article on it from the New York Times.

I’m against this park on so many levels.

1. The park will essentially be in my mother’s backyard, which will more than likely drive down the value of her land. Noise and air pollution, traffic, etc.

2. $200 million dollars on a “Christian Amusement park”? Seriously. This will give people who already question Christians and their motives reason to question more. Why not spend that money on feeding homeless, or helping with world relief or WHATEVER. There are probably 1000 things that would be better use of that money.

3. A Bible themed amusement park kind of cheapens the Christian faith and makes it less sacred.  This idea is so absurd that i can’t imagine anyone wanting to go to this, let alone want to have it right in their backyard.

There’s a website that will give you more information, if you feel so inclined to find out more.  This is a guy who lives in the neighborhood who is completely against it.

Stop the madness, people.

Transformers = good.

busy like the wolf these days.  here is a few very quick review:

Transformers the Movie: i immediately commented to a friend after seeing it that, and he agreed, that i could not tell that anything was done with CG.  it was funny, action-packed, didn’t take itself seriously, and overall excellent.  A.

Also, check out the latest by Queens of the Stone Age, Electric Soft Parade, and an album by a band called L.E.O.
