These are the movies that i’ve seen (up to this date) that were released in the year 2007. I’ve categorized them this year in tiers, but overall, this list is in order starting from favorite to least. The top 2 tiers are a little more difficult to discern between, but we’ll go with this for now. Disagree or agree, but this is the list.

(Please note that there are still a few movies that came out in 2007 that i haven’t seen yet that i think would rank high)

Favorites of the year:

Juno
No Country For Old Men
Deathproof
300
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
30 Days of Night

Great films of the year:

Disturbia
Transformers
Planet Terror
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
There Will Be Blood
1408
I Am Legend
Spiderman 3
Ocean’s Thirteen
Zodiac

Really Good:

Gone Baby Gone
Live Free or Die Hard
The Bourne Ultimatum

Pretty Decent:

Black Snake Moan
Michael Clayton
The Brave One

Good for one reason or another:

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
We Own the Night
American Gangster
Smokin’ Aces
Knocked Up

Starting to fall off a bit, but still not bad:

Saw IV
Shrek the Third
Death Sentence

Meh:

Vacancy
The Ex
License to Wed
King of California
Evan Almighty
Fracture

No:

Gracie
The Reaping

Well done. I know you’ve worked hard on this. *Insert witty parting-shot here.*

  2. Paul A. said,

Crap … I have King of California at home; right now … sadly I will never watch Sweeny Todd because I do not watch musicals (because I’m a man).

  3. Eddie said,

Smokin’ Aces? I must know the reason as I was thoroughly disappointed. Michael Clayton was quite interesting though I think I would put it exactly where you did.

I’d comment further, but I lack the time. Did you see the alternate ending for I Am Legend. Well worth the five minutes or so.
