Fun. Halloween. Music.

A few things:

10 Very Good Reasons Why You Should Grow a Giant Beard. (via Paul.)

Went to a great show the other night.  Junior Revolution, Heypenny, and Autovaughn.  Junior Revolution had cool designs on their merch, so i hoped they wouldn’t suck, and they didn’t.  I ended up getting a t-shirt and a couple of cds.  Pretty good stuff.  Heypenny is probably my favorite Nashville band right now.  I love every song, they have fun, and they’re good guys.  Go to their myspace and listen to Cop Car and watch their new video for Parade.  Do it.  Apparently Autovaughn is in Europe for the next 5 weeks.  They’re good too.

1000 Awesome Somethings. (once again, via Paul.) Be sure to check some of the links on the side of this one.  Great stuff. Especially Stuff White People Like.

Tomorrow is Halloween.  Everyone be safe.  Be scary.  BE fun. Be something other than yourself.  Unless you’re scary or fun.

Here’s a scary photo for you to ponder over this eventful weekend:

Post Debate and getting political

I had a long boring post halfway written, but i’ve decided to do a list instead.  Lists are more fun.

+ Who won the debate?  Who cares?  At this point you have to ask yourself who YOU want in office.  Everyone has their idea of what they think a president should do.  I’m voting based on economy, environment/green movement, Net Neutrality, and a few other issues.

+ This photo haunts me.  Every time McCain smiled last night i saw one of the vampires from 30 Days of Night, which is a fantastic movie, btw. “John McCain NOOOOO!!!! Don’t eat Obama!!!”

+ Watching the debate last night was like routing for one of my favorite football teams last night.  McCain would say something i agree with, and it was like “Ouch. Nice pass.”  Or Obama would say something for the 10th time and i’d think, “Don’t run it up the middle, again!”  For those who watch football, you may know what i’m saying.  For those who don’t, go eat a popsicle.

+ I don’t like politicians.

+ Is this how Sarah Palin would be as president?  Of course not.  Maybe.

+ I don’t think the people who are running can be judged by their followers, but this little video clip is frightening.

+ McCain scares the hell out of me.  Palin even more so.  Maybe i should be frighted by Obama too, considering he’s a politician, but he’s the only politician since i’ve been able to vote that has said things that i like.  He’s said stuff i haven’t liked as well, but they all do that.

+ If i’m wrong about Obama, i’ll be willing to say i was wrong, but for now, i just have to go with him.

+ I don’t think you can vote soley based on Abortion or gay marriage.  W. is pro life and nothing has changed on that in the last 8 years.  What makes you think it will change now?  These things are merely around to polarize you.  Right now we need a president who will try some different things, get us away from foreign oil, help the economy, and be willing to have a beer with me in a local pub.

+ I don’t think any of the presidential candidates are going to have a beer with me.

Stuff, sometimes things.

Do you ever just feel incredibly busy but aren’t quite sure what it is that makes you so busy?  i don’t read any blogs (for the most part) anymore.  Unless someone says “hey, i just posted.”  Obviously i don’t blog much anymore.

a. Watching Heroes and Fringe.  Both are ok.  The question is: are they worth 2 evenings of my time, or could i be doing something better with that time?

b. Going to see The Sword and Clutch tonight with Scott.  I’ll have my chainsaw covered with fire ready.

c. Burn After Reading was meh.  i think it’s probably worth seeing, but i wouldn’t see it in the theaters.

d. I’m close to bein all Mac now.  Having some issues with the admin on the new computer (iMac), which is sad, but i’m sure i’ll push through it.

e. I’ve been with my current place of employment for 9 years now.

f. Leslie swept me away to Knoxville to have dinner with friends and then onto Asheville, NC this past weekend for my birthday.  Asheville is a great city.  The downtown is filled with great locally owned shops and restaurants and is striving to do everything in a Green way.  Many organic clothing/linen/household items stores there.  The food was amazing.  Probably ate the best Indian food i’ve ever had there.  Mela.  I really liked Asheville.

g. Facebook is 1000 times better than MySpace (unless you’re a band).  Of course, i’m not telling you anything you don’t know already.

h. i now ride a bike on occasion.  i rode a bike to the mall last week to see a movie in the movie theater.  It’s kind of fun.

i. like to ski.

j. i’m thinking about doing some top 10 lists again sometime.  We’ll see.  i’m open to suggestions if anyone has any.
